1355 players register for IPL 2026 auction, ex-KKR star & ex-LSG spinner only Indians with maximum base price – InsideSport
Over a thousand players have registered themselves for the IPL 2026 auction in hopes of finding a franchise for themselves in the cash-rich league. The mini-auction is scheduled to take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi and will be a one-day event. Among the star attractions in the IPL 2025 auction is Australian all-rounder Cameron Green who missed the previous season due to an injury.
As per Cricbuzz, only two Indians have a maximum base price of Rs 2 crore – ex-KKR batter Venkatesh Iyer and former LSG spinner Ravi Bishnoi. While Iyer was released after the Rs 23.75 crore delivered a sub-par performance in IPL 2025, LSG decided to move on from Bishnoi, especially since he did not fare well after being retained for Rs 11 crore before the mega auction.

Further, Shakib al Hasan – the out of favour Bangladesh star – has set himself a reserve price of Rs 1 crore. He found no takers in the IPL 2025 mega auction, despite being a veteran in the league. It is pertinent to point out that there are 77 slots to be filled, including 31 overseas positions, across the teams.
