4 Held for Black Marketing IPL Tickets at ₹10K Each in Bengaluru – newskarnataka.com
Bengaluru police have arrested four individuals for illegally selling IPL match tickets at inflated prices, far above their official value. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) conducted the operation and seized 32 tickets for the high-profile clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), scheduled at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The tickets, each originally priced at ₹1,200, were allegedly being sold for ₹10,000 apiece, authorities revealed. The accused have been identified as S Charan Raj, H Harshavardhan Sanklecha, K Vinay, and B Venkata Sai. Among them, Venkata Sai is believed to be the key person responsible for arranging the tickets, police added.
“Based on a tip-off, we first nabbed Charan Raj, who was in possession of 12 tickets. His interrogation led us to the other three, from whom 20 more tickets were recovered,” said a CCB officer. Investigations are underway to determine how the tickets were sourced and whether more individuals are involved.
The case highlights the growing concern of ticket black marketing during IPL season, especially for marquee matches.
