Rajasthan Royals have started their chase of 188 with Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal at the crease.
Samson took a couple of singles and then blasted a six over square leg off a short delivery by Mukesh Kumar. Jaiswal followed it up with a stunning six over long-off.
RR: 16/0 (1.5)
Tristan Stubbs is finishing games like a pro! He made out a solid 34 off 18 balls, finding support from Ashutosh Sharma (15 off 11) as Delhi Capitals smashed 77 runs in the last five overs to post a competitive total for the Rajasthan Royals.
Sandeep Sharma, despite bowling brilliantly in his first three overs, had a horror final over, conceding 19 runs that included four wides, a no-ball, and a dropped catch by Theekshana.
DC: 188/5 (20)
Tristan Stubbs is putting on a clinic at the death! He’s found the boundary twice and launched a massive six off Sandeep Sharma in the final over to take Delhi Capitals to 187/5 in 19.5 overs.
Review Drama:
Things got a little wild earlier in the over. Sandeep Sharma bowled a short one that zipped past Ashutosh Sharma, and it wasn’t initially given a wide. But DC reviewed it straight away — and rightly so! The ball had clearly sailed over Ashutosh’s head. The umpire had a look, and yep, it was called wide in the end. Bonus run for DC and a free hit followed soon after!
RR’s bowlers are losing their grip a bit here — especially Sandeep, who looked tired and wayward in this final over.
DC: 187/5 (19.5)
After a shaky start for DC, the skipper Axar Patel ignited hope for a short time with a rapid 34 off 14 balls. However, he fell to Theekshana, who took an easy catch at long-on. Delhi’s hopes now rest on the shoulders of Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma.
DC: 149/5 (17.3)
Delhi Capitals are currently 126/4 in 15.4 overs, with Axar Patel (4) and Tristan Stubbs (10) at the crease.
After a strong 49-run knock from Porel, which included five fours and a six, DC lost their fourth wicket. The hosts are now looking to accelerate in the final few overs.
DC: 126/4 (15.4)
Now Rajasthan Royals take control!
Abishek Porel is caught by Riyan Parag off Wanindu Hasaranga for 49. He was looking solid at the crease, tried to go aerial but the shot lacked power, and the ball was safely taken at long-off caught by Riyan Parag.
DC: 105/4 (13.5)
KL Rahul Falls to Jofra Archer’s short ball!
A massive breakthrough for Rajasthan Royals as KL Rahul departs for 38! Jofra Archer, back into the attack, got it just right with a short delivery onto Rahul’s middle stump who pulls it towards the mid-wicket. There, Shimron Hetmyer made a stunning running catch inches off the ground.
After losing early wickets, Abishek Porel (40*) and KL Rahul (27*) are rebuilding for Delhi Capitals.
They’ve added 51 runs for the third wicket, helping DC reach 85/2 in 10.4 overs.
DC: 85/2 (10.4)
What a rollercoaster start for Delhi! Jake Fraser-McGurk came out all guns blazing, and Abishek Porel joined the party with a flurry of boundaries. But just when things looked like they were heating up, DC lost two in quick succession — JFM got out trying to hit a big shot, and Karun Nair was run out for zero. Porel’s still out there, batting fluently on 31 off 18, with KL Rahul giving him company now.
DC: 48/2 (6.2)
There we go! Delhi Capitals lose an early wicket as Jofra Archer strikes. Jake Fraser-McGurk gets caught by Yashasvi Jaiswal for 9 off 6 balls. However, Abishek Porel is looking in destructive form, smashing 24 off 7 balls, keeping DC on track.
DC: 34/1 (2.4)
We’re off to a thrilling start here at the Arun Jaitley Stadium! DC’s Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel are at the crease, Jofra Archer starts the bowling the attack for Rajasthan.
