End of 10 overs: Royal Challengers Bengaluru 83/2
After a brisk powerplay, RCB have been pegged back slightly as they reached 83/1 at the 10-over mark. The last four overs have belonged more to Rajasthan Royals as they managed to break the opening stand and slow down the scoring.
Philip Salt, who looked dangerous early on, was dismissed by Hasaranga. Since then, the run flow has dipped, with just 24 runs coming in the four overs after the powerplay.
Virat Kohli is still out there on 40 off 27, now joined by Devdutt Padikkal, who’s taken a bit of time to settle in. It’s a good phase of play for RR, but they’ll need a couple more wickets soon. If this new partnership begins to accelerate, RCB could still post a big total on this testing surface.
End of 6 overs: Royal Challengers Bengaluru 59/0
RCB are off to a strong start as they finished the powerplay at 59 for no loss. Both Philip Salt and Virat Kohli had their moments of fortune early on. Salt was dropped on 1 by Riyan Parag off Farooqi and Kohli survived few edgy moments against Jofra Archer.
But once they settled, they made sure to cash in. The pitch hasn’t made batting easy, with the uneven but Salt and Kohli have done well to ride their luck and keep the scoreboard ticking.
With all ten wickets intact and a solid platform set, RCB will now look to build smartly through the middle overs.
During the toss, Parag said that Sanju bhaiya is recovering and we will take it game by game. He has got a tear on his side, so hopefully he comes back soon.
