Trump wrote in a post on social media, “I am not happy with Russian attacks on Kiev. It was not necessary and it was a very wrong time. 5000 soldiers are dying every week. Let’s make a peace settlement!” According to a report by the news agency Associated Press, nine people died in a large -scale Russian airstrike on Kiev, while 63 people were injured.

Many people are buried in debris

Kiev’s Mayor Vitsko Clitsko said that rescuers are still evacuating the survivors from the debris. He said, “The injured include six children and a pregnant woman. Homes, vehicles and other buildings caught fire and damaged them due to falling debris.” Ukraine’s state emergency service said on Telegram that Russia has launched a big joint attack on Kiev.

Ukraine crisis will not be resolved overnight- Russia

Ukraine’s internal minister, Ihor Climenco said, “A big rescue operation is going on. Mobile phones can be heard under the ruins. The search will continue until everyone is taken out.” Russia’s President’s Office spokesman Dimitri Peskov said on Wednesday (23 April 2025) that the Ukraine crisis is very complicated and cannot be resolved overnight. He said that Russia would announce when Trump’s West Asia messenger Steve Witchoff will come to Russia.
