IPL 2025 Suspended: The RCB vs LSG match in the IPL 2025 will not go as planned, as the tournament has been suspended midway through for one week due to security concerns in the war-like situation between India and Pakistan.
RCB vs LSG, IPL 2025: The IPL 2025 match 59 between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru was scheduled to be played today (on Friday, May 9) at 7:30 PM IST.
However, the match will not go as planned as the IPL 2025 has been suspended midway through for one week due to security concerns in the war-like situation between India and Pakistan. The remaining twelve league matches and four knockout games stand temporarily cancelled.
Soon after tensions increased between the two countries, with Pakistan attacking India’s military bases in multiple venues, the IPL 2025 match between the Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was called off midway in Dharamsala on Thursday. Pakistan responded to India’s missile attacks on nine terror sites in their country, as well as Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, as a revenge response to the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed.
On Thursday, a blackout was enforced in several districts in India amid air raid alarms and reports of explosion-like sounds in Jammu, as cross-border shelling and drone attacks intensified from the Pakistan army.
BCCI hosted an emergency meeting on Thursday morning and decided to suspend the season temporarily. The LSG-RCB clash, like other remaining matches, will be held at a later date, which will be announced by the board in due course.
While Lucknow is considerably far from the India-Pakistan border, the decision by the BCCI to cancel the LSG vs RCB match was taken to prioritise the safety of players, staff, and spectators.
Although LSG are yet to provide an official update on the refund procedure, it can be understood that approximately 45,000 fans have booked tickets for the LSG vs RCB IPL 2025 match.
The refund process of the RCB vs LSG match tickets will be automatic for those who purchased tickets online through official platforms.
