Welcome to Sportstar’s live coverage of the IPL 2025 encounter between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The IPL returns after a two-week break with 13 league stage fixtures left to play. RCB is just two points away from becoming the first team to seal a spot in the Playoffs. KKR needs to win all its games and hope a few other results go as planned.
There is some rain forecast for the rest of the evening and both teams will hope we can eke out a game, even if its shortened.
Uh oh! The drizzle is back!
Live broadcast visuals showing super soppers getting to work to dry the outfield. We might be close to resumption, provided the rain doesn’t worsen from here.

For a five-over game, the cut-off time is 10.56 pm.
A small reduction in intensity, says Sudarshan. But the conditions are nowhere near ideal for a match start.

The toss has been officially delayed due to rain. The wait continues…..

‘There is a slight drizzle at the stadium’, pings our reporter N. Sudarshan. Still an hour to go for the toss though. Hopefully its a passing cloud that clears up quickly. The Chinnaswamy also has excellent drainage facilities which can get the ground ready just moments after the rain stops.

Playoffs qualification beckons Royal Challengers Bengaluru while elimination stares Kolkata Knight Riders in the face as the two sides meet in an Indian Premier League (IPL) fixture at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Saturday.
A win for RCB over the defending champion will guarantee a top-four berth and clear the course for it to stake claim for a top-two spot. For KKR, a defeat will send the outfit crashing out.
The home side will certainly fancy its chances, for it has all overseas personnel – except injured pacer Josh Hazlewood – back after the week-long break, and has also seen skipper Rajat Patidar make significant progress after suffering a hand injury in the game against Chennai Super Kings on May 3.
