The second season of the Delhi Premier League has brought a great gift for cricket lovers. With big names like Rishabh Pant, other IPL stars and the addition of two new teams will make this league even more exciting. DPL 2025 Auction: The newly appointed vice-captain of the Indian Test team, Rishabh Pant, is currently on a tour of England, and his entire focus is on making India win the Test series. But, in the meantime, his name will be heard on another platform, and there will certainly be fierce competition among the franchises for his name. Every franchise will want to include Pant in their team. Not only Pant, but bets will also be placed on nine other top players of the IPL.
This is not about the IPL Auction, but about the Delhi Premier League (DPL). The second season of DPL is about to start, and before that, there will be a Grand Auction, in which Pant’s name is included. This auction for the next season of the league is to be held on July 6, in which, apart from Pant, some other players playing in the IPL will participate.

Apart from Pant, Priyansh Arya, and Digvijay Rathi, who made a splash in IPL-2025, will also be included in this DPL auction. Priyansh made his debut for Punjab Kings this year and was a hit in the very first season. He and Prabhsimran Singh’s pair played an important role in taking Punjab to the final. Punjab was the runner-up this season. Rathi played for the Lucknow Supergiants, whose captain was Pant. Although this team could not reach the playoffs, Rathi impressed a lot with his spin.
Apart from these three, experienced fast bowler Ishant Sharma, who played for India for a long time, Ayush Badoni who played for Lucknow Supergiants, Delhi Capitals’ young fast bowler Harshit Rana, Delhi’s all-rounder Himmat Singh, Kolkata Knight Riders’ spinner Suyash Sharma, Lucknow Supergiants’ fast bowler Mayank Yadav and Royal Challengers Bangalore’s wicketkeeper-batsman Anuj Rawat will also participate in this auction. Franchises can place big bids on all these players.
Two new teams will also be included in this season of DPL. Now, eight teams will participate in the Men’s League instead of six, which will increase the excitement of the tournament.
Outer Delhi team
Savita Paints Private Limited and Prabhat Dayal Om Prakash Infrastructure Private Limited have jointly acquired the ownership of this team by bidding ₹10 crore 60 lakhs.
New Delhi team
Bhima Tolling and Traffic Solutions Private Limited and Crayon Advertising Limited have won the New Delhi team with a bid of ₹9 crore 20 lakhs. Gaursons India Private Limited was also in the race to buy this team, which had bid up to ₹9 crore 10 lakhs, but ultimately lagged.

This time DPL. There will be a total of eight teams in the field, which will compete against each other:
East Delhi Riders
South Delhi Superstars
West Delhi Lions
North Delhi Strikers
Old Delhi-6
Central Delhi Kings
Outer Delhi (new team)
New Delhi (new team)
There will be tough competition between these teams. Apart from this, the total number of matches is also going to increase, which will give the audience even more cricket fun. However, it has not been decided yet how many matches will be increased, but it is expected that this season will be bigger and better than the previous one.
