Jitesh Sharma will lead India A’s squad that is filled with IPL’s upcoming superstars
Wicket-keeper batter Jitesh Sharma will captain India A in the upcoming Rising Stars Asia Cup to be held between November 14 and November 23 in Qatar. The 15-member squad is filled with the most promising youngsters of Indian cricket, most of whom have already made a mark in the IPL and domestic cricket.
Seasoned Punjab performer and Mumbai Indians player Naman Dhir is named as Sharma’s deputy for the tournament. Meanwhile, swashbuckling openers Priyansh Arya and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi have been named in the squad with the duo likely to bat at the top of the order. Apart from Sharma and Dhir, the middle order will have seasoned names in Nehal Wadhera, Ramandeep Singh and Ashutosh Sharma.
Bengal’s Abishek Porel, who had a good time with the Delhi Capitals, is the back-up keeper in the squad. Meanwhile, the bowling department will be headed by Vijaykumar Vyshak and Gurjapneet Singh, both of whom will be keen to make a mark for themselves for different reasons. Vyshak has steadily moved up the ranks in the last few years while Singh is still finding his feet in domestic cricket.
Leg spinner Suyash Sharma, one of RCB’s vital cogs in their IPL 2025 title, will handle the spin duties along with experienced left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey while Yudhvir Singh Charak and Yash Thakur are the back up seamers in the squad. All-rounder Suryansh Shedge, rated highly in India’s domestic circuit, is the only genuine seam bowling all-rounder in the side.
