Mumbai Indians have secured the services of Shardul Thakur and Sherfane Rutherford through trade deals ahead of the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Thakur, who joined Lucknow Super Giants as an injury replacement last season, was traded to MI for his existing fee of ₹2 crore.
West Indies all-rounder Rutherford, who played for Gujarat Titans last season, was traded to MI for his current fee of ₹2.6 crore, according to IPL.
Rutherford was part of the MI squad in 2020 and has represented Delhi Capitals (2019), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (2022) and Kolkata Knight Riders (2024).
The trading window will remain open until a week before the IPL mini auction, which is expected to take place in Abu Dhabi on December 16.
IPL hosted its last two auctions outside the country, with Dubai hosting the 2024 edition and Jeddah becoming the venue for the previous edition.
