After IPL Debut, Kusal Mendis Continues Outrageous Run In ODI Cricket – Cricket.com

Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis continued his incredible form in ODI cricket as in the series decider against Bangladesh in Pallekele today, the wicketkeeper-batter smashed his sixth ton in 50-over cricket. Mendis walked in at 13/1 in the fourth over and compiled a sublime ton, getting to the three-figure mark off just 95 balls.
The century today was Mendis’ fourth 50-plus score in his last six innings in ODIs. His last six scores now read 124, 56, 45, 101, 19 and 54. 
In particular, the 30-year-old has been in terrific form in games at home, dating back to October last year. Across his last eight ODI innings in Sri Lanka, Mendis has now amassed 618 runs at an astonishing average of 103.00. 
Since October 26, 2024, Mendis’ scores in ODI cricket at home read 124, 56, 45, 101, 19, 74*, 143 & 56*.
The 30-year-old now has scored 1,145 runs since the start of 2024 in ODIs, the most for any batter. And he’s averaging 52 in this period while striking at 95. 
Someone who’s now been in the international circuit for a decade, Mendis made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut earlier this year in IPL 2025, representing the Gujarat Titans (GT). He was a temporary replacement for Jos Buttler. He made a solitary appearance against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Eliminator in Mullanpur.
