New Delhi: Former Zimbabwean cricketer and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) coach Andy Flower met Swami Chidanand Saraswati, president and spiritual guru of Paramarth Niketan Ashram, on Saturday. The meeting took place in Rishikesh on the occasion of International Yoga Day, where Andy Flower discussed team sports and winning trophies with Swami Ji. He recently led RCB to its first IPL title as a coach.
Speaking to ANI, Flower said, “I was talking to Swamiji about the teams. Our tendency as a sports organization is to grab the trophy that we want to win. And everything is about winning. But from my playing and coaching experience, winning is not enough. There has to be something more meaningful in it, something more meaningful. Because winning is sometimes a bit hollow after winning sometimes there has to be something else to it. We were talking about what type of impact you can have on others and groups but for that you won’t necessarily have a positive impact on yourself unless you are in a good position. Could.”
New perspective from yoga
Speaking about the experience he spent in Rishikesh on the occasion of International Yoga Day, Andy Flower said, “It was a fantastic experience. I have been in Rishikesh for the past two weeks and have been learning a lot about yoga. I have learned that yoga is not just a one-hour class, but it is a lifestyle for millions of people that I have practiced, physically and physically. Enjoyed a lot.
Andy Flower led England to win the Ashes and the T20 World Cup, then Wonders in The Hundred and many leagues around the world. He made Maratha Arabians, Multan Sultans, Trent Rockets and Gulf Giants champions. He also gave successes to Lucknow and RCB in the IPL. His coaching career has been full of accomplishments.
