Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced BJP led NDA alliance won 325 seats in Panchayat elections

The BJP has won a big victory before the panchayat elections in Assam. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Friday (April 18, 2025) that the BJP -led NDA alliance has got 325 seats in the panchayat elections.

Himanta Biswa Sarma described it as an unprecedented contribution in the political history of Assam. Assam CM posted on X and informed that 37 Zilla Parishad seats in which 35 BJP and 2 AGP have won. 288 Zonal Panchayat seats in which 259 seats have won BJP and 29 AGP unopposed. This victory has been won without a single vote. This victory has been received after the last date to withdraw the name.

‘NDA seats will increase further after the election results are declared’
The Chief Minister of Assam said that this historic victory shows people’s unprecedented love towards NDA and PM Modi. At the same time, he expressed confidence that after the declaration of the final election results, the seats of NDA will increase even more. He said that the NDA is fully ready to win the panchayat elections in Assam.

The Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Assam and praised the hard work of party workers, saying that his untiring efforts and unbreakable commitment has paved the way for this initial success. This development indicates strong mass support for NDA across Assam, while the remaining stages of local body elections are awaited.

Yesterday marked the last date for withdrawal of nominations for the upcoming panchayat elections. As per reports received so far, the NDA has Alredy Secure 37 Zila Parishad (35 BJP and 2 Agp) and 288 anchalik panchayat (259 BJP and 29 agp) unopposed.
