Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested a techie for illegally selling IPL match tickets in Bengaluru.
The arrested person has been identified as Somarapu Vamshi (22), a native of Telangana. Police have seized 10 tickets worth Rs 1,600 and one mobile phone from him.
According to police, the accused was caught selling tickets of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Kolkata Knight Riders (RCB vs KKR) match scheduled for May 17 at inflated prices. Though the match was later cancelled due to rain, Vamshi had allegedly sold Rs 1,200-worth tickets for as high as Rs 6,000.
Vamshi is said to be an IIT graduate and currently employed in a private firm in Bengaluru.
The CCB is further investigating the matter.
