MS Dhoni was in favour of BCCI implementing Impact Player rule in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the 2023 season, saying that the tournament didn’t require any additions at that point.
IPL is all about the batters nowadays. So, if we get something for the bowlers, it’s very nice to see. If there is something for the bowlers, it’s great for the game as well. As for the usage of saliva, they (the pacers) can find that reverse swing at the end.
In the IPL, the dew factor is there in most of the venues. So, if after 10 overs the fresh ball is there, the bowlers can (better) execute something. So, I think they are good rules for the bowlers. They have something to execute and they might find it easier (to contain runs).
“Unfortunately, Mohsin I think sustained a small calf injury in his rehab (from his knee injury). So, knowing that we had four guys out, we had to make that tough call on Mohsin (ruled out for the season). We think Avesh Khan (knee injury) will pass his right to play tomorrow morning through the NCA,” Super Giants’ head coach Justin Langer said.
“So, if that’s the case, then he’ll be back sooner rather than later. Akash Deep (back injury) is up and running, and bowling at about 90 per cent now. I believe he’s done his Yo-Yo test. So, he’s really ticking off all the boxes.”
Delhi Capitals’ new captain Axar Patel on Sunday said that he is honoured to be leading the franchise and confident of the team he’s been entrusted with this IPL season.
