Delhi Vijender Gupta announced to implement e Assembly project All proceedings will paperless ANN

Delhi e-casembly project: On the third day of the budget session of Delhi Assembly, Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta announced to implement the e-Vidhan Sabha project soon. He said that an attempt will be made to fully implement it in the next 100 days, so that the monsoon session can be conducted through the e-Vidhan Sabha application ‘NEVA’.

The speaker said that on 22 March 2025, there was an agreement (MOU) between the Delhi Legislative Assembly and the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs of the Government of India. Under this agreement, the Government of India will bear the financial burden of the entire project. After the implementation of the e-Vidhan Sabha, all the work will be online and paperless, which will not only intensify the functioning, but will also increase transparency.

MLAs will get online facilities

The Speaker said that after the implementation of the e-Vidhan Sabha, the MLAs will get the facility to submit online notices and get all the records related to the House on mobile or tablet. Apart from this, this digital system will help in effectively dealing with questions, answers, discussions, legislative work and committee related matters.

He also informed that this application will be available on touchscreen desktop, mobile and tablet. A touchscreen device will be installed on each MLA’s seat, so that they will be able to see all the necessary documents in digital form.

Speaker Vijendra Gupta said that training sessions will be organized for MLAs and employees to implement the e-Vidhan Sabha effectively. Under this, a permanent facility center will also be set up in the Assembly Secretariat, where MLAs will be able to understand the digital process and learn to use the application.

The speaker said that this is an important step to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s One Nation-One application resolution. He appreciated the cooperation of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and Government of India officials, who have played an important role in implementing the project. The speaker also said that the Department of Law, Justice and Legislative Affairs of the Delhi Government, Department of Information Technology and Finance Department have assured full support to successfully implement this project.

The Speaker said that with the implementation of e-Vidhan Sabha, the functioning of the Delhi Assembly will be modern and transparent. This will not only get quick access to the information to the MLAs, but will also speed up the proceedings of the House. This step of the government will prove to be important towards strengthening the Digital India Mission as well as environmental protection. Paperless process will reduce paper consumption, which will also benefit the environment.

The speaker appealed to all MLAs and departments to work unitedly to make the e-Vidhan Sabha successful. After the implementation of this scheme, Delhi will move towards the formation of the country’s first fully digital assembly.
