Earthquake in UP 5 Richter scale struck Nepal

Earthquake in up: A 5.0 magnitude earthquake has been felt on the Richter scale in Nepal, due to which mild tremors have also been felt in North India. During this time, the news of the earth shaking has also come out in many districts of UP. The earth is reported to be shaking in many districts of UP adjacent to Nepal. Earthquake tremors have been felt in the seven districts of UP Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri and Pilibhit.

Earthquake tremors have also been felt in Sitapur, Gonda, Basti, Sultanpur, Azamgarh, Lakhimpur Kheri, Hardoi, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya and Jaunpur in UP. There have also been mild tremors of earthquake in Bageshwar, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Almora and Nainital in Uttarakhand. According to the National Earthquake Science Center, the intensity of the earthquake was 5.0 on the reactor scale and the depth of the center of this earthquake was 20 km below the ground.

Earlier yesterday, on Thursday (3 April 2025), Jhajjar, Haryana, had a 3.1 magnitude earthquake, whose shocks were felt in many parts of UP. The tremors of this earthquake were felt in Ayodhya, Lucknow and Varanasi. On the same day, an earthquake of 6.2 magnitude was recorded in Dadeldhura, Nepal, whose shocks also reached UP. Although there was no news of any major loss in UP during this period, there was an atmosphere of fear among the people.
