New Delhi: Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, is set to return to domestic cricket. He has been included in Goa’s Ranji Trophy squad for the 2025/26 season. He hasn’t played any domestic matches since December 2024. He was with the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 2025 IPL, but didn’t get a chance to play. Now, he is fully prepared for his first senior match.

Arjun played his last first-class match for Goa in November 2024 against Arunachal Pradesh. His last List A match was in December 2024. He also played three T20 matches for Goa in the 2024/25 season.

He moved from Mumbai to Goa before the 2022/23 season and has since represented Goa in all three formats. The 26-year-old has so far taken 37 wickets and scored 532 runs in 17 first-class matches. He started his Ranji career with a century against Rajasthan, which was a memorable moment for him.

Arjun has 25 wickets in List A cricket and 27 wickets in T20 cricket. He has played five IPL matches for Mumbai Indians so far. Arjun has been part of the MI team since 2021, although he remained on the bench during the 2021, 2022, and 2025 seasons. Recognized for his all-round skills, Arjun could play a key role for Goa this season.

Goa, which won the Plate Group last season, has now joined the Elite Group. The team will play its first match against Chandigarh on October 15. After that, they will face Karnataka, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra, Maharashtra, and Kerala.
The team will be led by Deepraj Gaonkar, while Lalit Yadav has been named vice-captain. Lalit has previously played for Delhi and Delhi Capitals (IPL).
Deepraj Gaonkar (Captain), Lalit Yadav (Vice-Captain), Suyash Prabhudesai, Manthan Khutkar, Darshan Mishal, Mohit Redkar, Samar Dubashi, Heramb Parab, Vikas Singh, Vishesh Prabhudesai, Ishan Gadekar, Kashyap Bakhle, Rajshekhar Harikkanth, Arjun Tendulkar, Abhinav Tejrana.
With Goa now entering the Elite Group, high expectations will be placed on Arjun. His ability to contribute with both bat and ball could prove crucial to Goa’s success in the upcoming season.
