IPL 2025 Points Table: Find the latest updated standings of the Indian Premier League after the Gujarat Titans vs Lucknow Super Giants match on Thursday.
A comprehensive win for LSG after being eliminated in the race for the Playoffs. However, it will be happy it could halt Gujarat Titans’ juggernaut and give the table-topper much to ponder about. With Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler back in the hut with less than 100 on the board, GT’s middle-order wasn’t able to cope with the pressure of a 236-run chase. Shahrukh Khan kept GT in the hunt with a 29-ball 57 but he didn’t find support from the other end. Mitchell Marsh’s century and Will O’Rourke were eventually the difference between the sides. Still, Gujarat remains on top of the points table, for now, with six more league matches left.

GT needs 38 runs to win off the last over. Ayush Badoni with the ball, even as LSG is slapped with a fielding penalty for a slow over-rate. Just a couple of singles off the first two balls.
OUT! Rabada is cleaned up as he swings across the line and the ball crashes into the leg-stump.
Sai Kishore is in next. Driven over covers for a single by Kishore. One more for Rashid at wide long-off.
OUT! Kishore is bowled off the last ball of the match as the ball turns into him, beats his attempted sweep and crashes into leg-stump.
Kagiso Rabada b Ayush Badoni 2 (3b)
Sai Kishore b Ayush Badoni 1 (2b)
Avesh for the penultimate over. Just a single off the first ball for Shahrukh. Excellent yorker by Avesh, and Rashid keeps it out by dabbing it to short-third for a single. Thumped down the ground by Shahrukh for one more off the next ball.
Shahrukh changes his bat. Let’s see if that makes a difference. Heaved away through the leg-side by Rashid for a single. OUT! Low full toss and Shahrukh is gone.
Here comes Rabada. Another yorker and just a single for Rabada to end the over.
Shahrukh Khan c sub (Ravi Bishnoi) b Avesh Khan 57 (29b 5×4 3×6)
Shahbaz with the ball. Wide outside off, Shahrukh steps out but only gets a bottom edge. A misfield allows him to come back for a second. Shahrukh steps out early again and slashes this wide outside-off delivery for just a single. Angling away across from Arshad and called a wide. Too straight but flicked to fine-leg only for a single by Arshad. A long hop, but Shahrukh miscues the pull and ends up getting an inside edge to short fine that only yields a single. Angling across again, and Arshad swings and misses. OUT! Sliced straight to the fielder at point and Arshad has to go.
Arshad Khan c Will O’Rourke b Shahbaz Ahmed 1 (3b)
O’Rourke comes back for his final over. GT needs 54 runs from 24 balls.
OUT! Flicked in the air by Rutherford and he is caught at deep square-leg by Bishnoi. Huge wicket for Lucknow.
In comes crisis man Rahul Tewatia. Can he pull off another heist for GT? He starts off with a quick single. Short, and ramped just away from the short-third fielder by Shahrukh for a single, and he brings up his fifty, off only 22 balls!
OUT! Tewatia holes out at long-off and O’Rourke has turned the match around for the Super Giants.
Sherfane Rutherford c sub (Ravi Bishnoi) b Will O’Rourke 38 (22b 1×4 3×6)
Rahul Tewatia c Himmat Singh b Will O’Rourke 2 (3b)
Akash Deep with the ball. FOUR! Thick outside edge and the ball runs away to the third-man fence off Shahrukh’s blade. SIX! Shahrukh goes dowtown next ball and clears the rope. Ten runs off the first two balls. FOUR! It’s raining boundaries. Short and ramped over the keeper by Shahrukh for another boundary. Full outside off and driven off the inside half of the bat by Shahrukh for a single. Short ball angling across and Rutherford lets it go; not called a wide so that’s a precious dot ball. This yorker is angling across too far and called a wide by the umpire. Slashed to deep point by Rutherford for a single to end the over.
Shahbaz again. SIX! Shahrukh steps out and powers this over deep midwicket for a maximum off the first ball. Slapped through the off-side for one more by Shahrukh. Shahbaz angles it away from Rutherford, who slices the ball high in the air and gets a couple of runs. FOUR! Slashed through point by Rutherford and a misfield will give him a boundary. SIX! Reverse-sweep by Rutherford and he clears the third-man fence. Nineteen runs from the over, and this could tip the scales in GT’s favour. Game on from here! Time for a Strategic Timeout!
Avesh comes back. FOUR! He misses the wide yorker, and Shahrukh creams it through covers and finds a boundary. A couple more for Shahrukh through backward point. FOUR! Full toss again and pumped over mid-off by Shahrukh for another boundary. Short, into the body, and Shahrukh looks to ramp it over the keeper but cannot make any contact as he is cramped for room. Another full toss outside off, but Shahrukh gets an inside edge and only collects a single. SIX! Full on the pads, and whipped by Rutherford over backward square for a maximum. Big over for GT!
Shahbaz for his second. CHANCE! Rutherford slashes at a wide delivery, angling away from him, gets a thick edge which just beats the lanky O’Rourke at backward point.
Just seven runs from the over.
Akash Deep back for his third over. SIX! Starts with a half tracker to Rutherford, pummels this over deep square leg.
SIX for Shahrukh! A wide delivery in the block hole and Shahrukh slices this over backward point. A chance on the last delivery. Rutherford cuts the last delivery. Ayush Badoni dives to his right but the ball was just too wide to grab it.
O’Rourke again. Rutherford collides with O’Rourke as he tries to scamper through for a single. That was curtains for the GT batter had the throw hit the stumps from mid off. The miss allows him to get up get into his crease.
FOUR to end the over. Shahrukh with a slap through extra covers. GT now needs 129 from nine overs.
Akash Singh back for his third over. WICKET! Akash removes the dangerous Buttler. The Big 3 of GT are back in the hut. He pitches this at a length and the ball nips in to crash his gate.
Jos Buttler b Akash 33(18)
Shahrukh Khan off the mark with a single to long on.
Nine runs from O’Rourke’s over. Buttler picks a FOUR with a cut off a slower delivery.
Avesh again. FOUR! Back-of-a-length to Gill who slaps this through the covers.
WICKET! A brilliant catch from Abdul Samad has brought Gill’s stay to an end. Slices his aerial shot on this full delivery, Samad covers a long distance to get under it and then hold onto the ball. Is this the game turning for LSG?
Shubman Gill c Samad b Avesh 35(20)
Nine runs from Shahbaz Ahmad’s over. A FOUR for Gill in the over, the batter charges down but Ahmad bowls it wide, Gill adjusts and hits this square of the wicket.
Akash Singh to Gill, driven straight back at the bowler, a ricochet to long on gets him a single. Akash’s right hand is bleeding from that hit. He will go off to get that wrapped up.
Avesh Khan will finish off the over. FOUR! Buttler starts his onslaught, shuffles to his off side and paddles this over the keeper. SIX now! Buttler pulls this short delivery over midwicket. SIX again! Makes room for this, gets outside the line and lofts this over long off. FOUR down the ground to finish the over.
Will O’Rourke into the attack now. FOUR! An attempted bouncer, outside off and Sudharsan cuts this on the up.
WICKET! Full to Sudharsan whose drive goes on the up to mid off. Markram lunges in front of him to grab that chance.
Sai Sudharsan c Markram b O’Rourke 21(16)
Jos Buttler in at No. 3. Three straight dot deliveries to start his innings.
Akash Deep again. Wide of off to Sudharsan, who cuts but misses. The next comes on the pads to Sudharsan, clips it but there’s deep square leg to stop that.
Akash fires the third into Gill as he sees him come down the track, forces him to fend this to midwicket, dot ball. No DRS right now!
FOUR! Just a fraction short from the bowler, and Gill uses his short-arm jab once more to pick this over the infield. FOUR! Short and going down leg, Gill pulls this to fine leg.
Akash Singh to Gill, charges down and punches to mid off, one run. The second is a good-length ball to Sudharsan, drives to mid on for a quick single.
FOUR! Crunches this past mid off, another gentle charge down the wicket from Gill to drive this between mid off and extra covers. FOUR more! This is shorter, Gill stands in his crease and short-arm jabs this through midwicket.
Three FOURs on the bounce! Comes out again, Akash fires this wider but Gill chases this, holds his shape and drives through covers.
Akash Deep from the other end. Appeal for leg before on the first delivery. Hits Sudharsan on the pad as he misses the flick but this was pitching outside the leg stump. FOUR! Full and moves into the left-hander, plays with a vertical bat and drives through mid off.
A single on the third delivery through midwicket. Akash follows up with a wide down leg to Gill. The GT captain opens the bat face on the fourth ball, guides this through point and runs one.
At a hard length to Sudharsan, on his midrif and he blocks. Another wide down leg from Akash, this time to Sudharsan. The southpaw drives the final delivery to mid off, no run.
Akash to Sudharsan, FOUR! Too full and Sudharsan goes on his front foot to loft this over extra covers.
FOUR again for Sudharsan. The fifth ball is on the pads, the leftie nudges this to fine leg. 11 runs in the over.
Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan will need to deliver big once again if GT is to chase this target.
Akash Singh comes in as Impact Player for Mitch Marsh. Prasidh Krishan out of the match for GT.
LSG’s batting lineup came to the party a little too late, but it did nevertheless. Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh gave the team yet another strong start, a 91-run stand, before Nicholas Pooran took over and smashed a brisk fifty. Marsh got to his maiden hundred, and an out-of-form Rishabht Pant imparted the finishing touches with two sixes at the end. Even though, LSG is out of the Playoffs race, it would want to bow out on a high, and a 235-run total has given it a good shot to claim its first win in more than a month.

Rabada to bowl the final over. Wide outside off and Pant goes down the ground for a maximum off the first ball of the over. Wide yorker next up, and just a single for Pant. Slower one, and Pooran swings and misses. Another slower delivery, this one is shortish outside off, and Pooran wants to swat it away but misses. They scamper through for a bye.
SIX! And the trademark no-look shot from Pant. He crouches and flicks it away behind square-leg for a maximum. Short, and Pant misses the pull completely. Dot ball to end the innings.
Arshad again. He angles it across from Marsh, who swings his bat and misses. OUT! Angling outside off again, and Marsh ends up slicing this high in the air, and caught behind point by Rutherford.
Pant comes in next and gets off the mark with a couple at fine-leg, flicking the ball off his toes.
SIX! Short, and pulled with vehemence over square-leg for a maximum.
Appeal for caught behind off the last ball as Buttler thinks Pooran got some bat on that, but the umpire says not out. GT is out of reviews.
Mitchell Marsh c Sherfane Rutherford b Arshad Khan 117 (64b 10×4 8×6)
Prasidh starts off with a yorker, and Marsh digs it out for a couple. Low full toss next up, and hit hard back at the bowler, who gets a hand to it and is stung.
Prasidh goes around the wicket. Called wide as Prasidh goes wide outside off to counter Pooran’s attempted reverse scoop. The wide call is upheld and GT has lost both its reviews.
Fifty for Pooran off 23 balls with a single. SIX! Short and pulled away with disdain by Marsh over deep square-leg. SIX! Slightly fuller, but the end result is the same as Marsh clears his front leg and deposits the ball down the ground. Yorker, and single for Marsh at long-off to end the over.
Arshad is back. Single for Marsh at long-on off the first ball. FOUR! Pooran swings across the line and gets a thick inside edge, and the ball races away to the boundary behind. Short, pulled by Pooran but doesn’t connect it well and gets a single behind square-leg. FOUR! Low full toss and hit down the ground by Marsh for a boundary. Single through point and that’s a hundred for Marsh off 56 balls.
High full toss, pulled away for a single by Pooran. This is too high, and called a no-ball. Gill isn’t happy and goes upstairs. The umpire’s decision stands, and it is a no-ball for height. Full and wide outside off, and just a single for Marsh at deep cover.
Siraj comes back. FOUR! Drilled down the ground for a boundary by Marsh and he gets into his nineties. FOUR! In the slot on leg-stump, and Pooran flicks it cheekily to the fine-leg boundary. Two back-to-back bouncers from Siraj, who is looking charged up and constantly having a word with Pooran. SIX! Pooran lets his bat to the talking! He heaves this length ball on middle and leg-stump over deep midwicket for a maximum. Drilled down the ground again for a boundary, this time by Pooran.
Kishore again. FOUR! Wide outside off-stump, and Pooran slashes it covers for a boundary. Smashed to long-off by Pooran, and quite shockingly, he denies Marsh a single. SIX! Pooran shows just why he kept strike against the left-arm spinner. He hammers the ball over long-on for a maximum, even as Kishore looks at him in disbelief. Time for a Strategic Timeout!
Rashid continues despite going for 25 runs in the previous over. SIX! Pooran greets him with a six over long-off as Rashid tosses this one up. Pooran ends the over with a sweep through midwicket, but Tewatia and the long-on fielder did well to keep it down to a couple.
Prasidh comes back. He starts off with a yorker, and gives away only a single off the first ball. Good comeback by Prasidh, with just four singles coming from the over.
Rashid Khan into the attack. SIX! Short one to start with, and Marsh has pulled it deep over deep midwicket for a maximum. FOUR! The next delivery is punched through covers by Marsh for another boundary. SIX! This is too full, and Marsh goes down the ground and clears long-off. FOUR! Short again, and pulled away again by Marsh through midwicket for another boundary. FOUR! Again short, and again pulled away by Marsh, this time to the square-leg boundary. Just a single to end the over, as 25 runs come from it.
image (12).jpg
Rabada replaces Prasidh. FOUR! Short wide outside off-stump, and Marsh looks to pull it through the leg-side but the ball goes off the top edge and runs away to the boundary behind the keeper.
Kishore continues. Bunted to long-off by Markram for a single. SIX! Marsh goes down the ground for another maximum and gets to his fifty in style, off 33 balls.
OUT! And Markram again looks to clear long-off but finds the fielder this time. Kishore gives Gujarat the much-needed breakthrough.
Nicholas Pooran is the next man in at No. 3. SIX! Pooran gets off the mark with a maximum over long-off as Kishore tosses this one up outside off-stump.
Aiden Markram c Shahrukh Khan b Sai Kishore 36 (24b 3×4 2×6)
Prasidh continues. FOUR! Shortish, and pulled hard through midwicket and in the gap by Marsh for a boundary. FOUR! Slow full toss wide outside off, and Markram gets enough bat on it and slaps it through covers to fetch a boundary. Lofted down the ground and the ball falls short of Shahrukh for a single.
Sai Kishore into the attack. SIX! Big hit down the ground by Marsh, and that sails over the boundary even though it goes off the toe end of the bat. Beaten! Quicker through the air from Kishore, and Marsh goes for the sweep and misses. Cut away off the last ball of the over by Marsh for a single.
Prasidh Krishna into the attack. He starts with a length ball to Marsh, who again misses his pull and gets hit on the abdomen. FOUR! Prasidh strays in line, goes down leg and Marsh sends it on its way to the fine leg fence.
Another delivery down leg, Marsh goes after it. There is a sound which interests GT about a review. Gill decides not to take and rightly so as UltraEdge shows no spike.
SIX! A juicy half-tracker which Marsh pulls away over deep square leg. A bouncer to close the over, hits Marsh on the shoulder and goes to the keeper.
Rabada again. SIX! Markram reads this delivery coming into him, heaves this over deep midwicket. SIX more! Toying with the angle now, too predictable from Rabada. Another delivery that angles into the right-hander’s body, launches this between long on and deep midwicket regions.
Fifteen runs from the over.
Siraj to continue. The first delivery angles into Marsh, who attempts a pull shot but misses. Siraj goes full and straight, Marsh drives back, no run.
FOUR! Too full on that occasion from Siraj, Marsh drives right past the bowler and mid off.
The fifth comes at a hard length, Marsh taps it to long on for one run. Extra bounce on the final delivery of the over, Markram wants to chip this over the infield, misses it in the end as it rises on him.
Kagiso Rabada to bowl now. A full delivery at the off-stump line, Marsh goes aerial but only gets elevation and not the distance, just beats the chasing mid off fielder, two runs.
FOUR! Picks it up off his pads and finds the fence in front of square. A drive straight back at the bowler on the third delivery, Rabada goes one-handed but cannot hold on, one run.
Three dot balls to finish the over. The final delivery is checked for an over-the-waist no ball but the ball tracker shows it’s fair.
Siraj to Markram CHANCE, he hits this short of length delivery through midwicket and it lands just short of the fielder. Two runs off that delivery. A single to mid on on the second delivery.
Marsh goes for hack across the line, misses this entirely. Another chance, a length ball outside off and Marsh smashes this back at the bowler. It is too fast for Siraj to react and collect this, hits it hand and bursts out.
The fifth delivery is flicked to midwicket, no run. A quick single to mid on on the final delivery.
Arshad Khan to bowl the second. He has a terrible fall due to a slip while landing at the popping crease. He’s thankfully okay to continue.
A wide down leg, he’ll have to bowl that again. FOUR! At a length and ample width, Markram whacks this through covers. A drive to mid on for a single on the next.
SIX! Marsh picks the length early and deposits this over covers.
Arshad slips again! It’s again at that landing spot. He’s in considerable pain now. There getting in a fair bit of sawdust in that area. He completes the remaining two deliveries without another fall.
Markram on strike to face Siraj. FOUR! Outside off, in the slot, a hint of shape away but within Markram’s reach to drive this through covers. Siraj goes into the surface on the second, into the body of Markram, who defends this.
Another one at the hard length, Markram works it through mid on for one run. Marsh is beaten! Outside off again but Marsh was on his toes expecting bounce on that one, sees it creep lower than expected. A wide down the leg, one extra for LSG.
The fifth is straight and at the stumps, Marsh punches this straight back for a single. An on drive from Markram to collect a single to mid on.
Mitch Marsh and Aiden Markram continue as the opening pair. No unneccessary changes from LSG as they stick to what has worked for them.
Mohammed Siraj will bowl the first over.
As has been the case since the resumption of IPL 2025, the match will start with the Indian National Anthem.

Rishabh Pant has endured one of the worst campaigns as captain in the IPL. His average this season—12.27—is the third-worst for a captain in a season (minimum 10 innings). The only specialist batter in that list is Eoin Morgan, who eked out 133 runs in 16 innings at 11.08 in 2021 as KKR captain. With a price tag of Rs. 27 crore and a tour of England looming, Pant will be under increased scrutiny in LSG’s final two games. Can be redeem some pride?
