India Pakistan Ceasefire S Jaishankar first reaction said both country agreed to stop firing and military action

India Pakistan Ceasefire: The ceasefire has been announced between India and Pakistan on Saturday (May 10, 2025). Since India’s Operation Sindoor, there was a continuous tension in both countries. During this period, Pakistan carried out drone and missile attacks in many places in India, which was thwarted by the Indian Army.

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar posted on X on Saturday and said that India and Pakistan have agreed to stop firing and military action today. India has taken a constant and firm stand against all forms and expressions of terrorism. He will continue to do so.

Giving information, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that Pakistan’s Director General Military Operations (DGMO) called DGMO of India. During this call, a ceasefire was agreed between the two countries. According to the consent, both sides will stop all military action and firing in the ground and air from 5 pm today.

‘Next conversation will be held at DGMO level on May 12’
The Foreign Secretary said that this agreement will be implemented by the military officials of both countries. The next conversation at DGMO level will take place on May 12 at 12 noon. He further stated that no pre -or post -condition has been laid on the ceasefire. The ceasefire was called by Pakistan. Sources in the Ministry of External Affairs said that the Indus Water Treaty will remain postponed.

S Jaishankar spoke to US Secretary of State
S Jaishankar had earlier talked to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio this morning and India had informed him of the retaliation being taken against Pakistan. In a statement issued by the US State Ministry, it was said that they have appealed to both countries to reduce tension during the phone call and the two countries should resolve the matter by negotiating among themselves.
