Wondering when the gates open before the match, what items are prohibited inside the stadium during an IPL game, and whether you can get a refund if a match is canceled? Find all these answers and more in our comprehensive guide for fans.
The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League 2025 starts on Saturday (March 22, 2025), with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders facing Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
The gates for all IPL matches this season will open around three hours before to the match’s start time.
Access will be denied if the ticket’s barcode is altered, or if the ticket is ripped, marked, damaged, or tampered with in any manner.
After entering the stadium, re-entry is not permitted. The ticket grants access only to the designated seating area and not to any other part of the stadium.
Items such as bottles, lighters, cans, musical instruments, flammable, toxic, illegal, or dangerous substances, metal containers, fireworks, firecrackers, weapons, motorcycle helmets, bags, or anything deemed by the organisers to potentially cause harm or disturb others, are prohibited inside the stadium. Bringing food into the stadium is not allowed. Alcohol cannot be carried in or out of the stadium, though consumption may be allowed in authorised areas during designated times, if any. Smoking is prohibited within the stadium. Any items, including banners or flags, displaying commercial logos that may conflict with official sponsors’ rights will not be permitted.
Refunds will only be provided if the match is called off or abandoned before any play begins. No other refund requests will be entertained.
Children aged two years and above are required to have their own ticket, and all individuals under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, who also holds a ticket, and must be under the adult’s constant supervision throughout the match.
