IPL 2025: CSK vs MI match live streaming, pitch report, weather forecast, predicted XIs, head-to-head stats & more – Firstpost

The opening day of the 2025 Indian Premier League witnessed Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lay down the marker with a clinical seven-wicket victory over defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata. Virat Kohli dished out an unbeaten fifty on Saturday as Rajat Patidar was off to a winning start after succeeding Faf du Plessis as RCB captain.
Before the season opener, the crowd at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens were treated to a glittering opening ceremony that featured ‘Badshah of Bollywood’ Shah Rukh Khan and also witnessed Kohli receive a special memento from BCCI president Roger Binny.
Day 2 of IPL 2025 will witness the first double-header of the season. And to nobody’s surprise, the focus of Sunday’s matches will be on the high voltage meeting between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.
Both MI and CSK had failed to reach the playoffs last year after undergoing a change in leadership – Hardik Pandya and Ruturaj Gaikwad succeeding Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni respectively – and will be hoping for a better outcome in the 18th season of the league.
Match 3 of the 2025 Indian Premier League between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians will be taking place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, 23 March at 7.30 pm, with toss taking place half-an-hour earlier.
The match will be telecast on the Star Sports and Sports18 networks and will also be streamed online on the JioHotstar website and mobile application.

There is an 80 per cent chance of Chennai experiencing rain on Sunday. The CSK-MI match, however, isn’t likely to get affected as the weather later in the evening is expected to be “mainly clear and humid”, according to Accuweather.
The pitch at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium is expected to play slow and low and assist spin, meaning both teams are likely to focus on that department as far as their bowling attacks are concerned.
Tickets for Sunday’s CSK vs MI match will be available on Chennai Super Kings’ official website as well as on District by Zomato as well as at the MA Chidambaram Stadium ticket counter.
