The Final IPL 2025 to play in Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, latest news: The IPL 2025 final is scheduled to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 7:30 PM IST.
The final venue has been changed from Eden Gardens in Kolkata to Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla said, clarifying that the change was not politically motivated.
“People should not look for any politics here regarding the matches that have been shifted. This decision was not politically motivated,” he said.
He noted, “Had the IPL been held on its original schedule, had there not been an India-Pakistan conflict, and had the IPL not been postponed for a week, then the final would have been held on May 25 in Kolkata itself, and the playoffs in Hyderabad.”

He further explained, “After the schedule was changed, weather conditions began to have an impact. The broadcaster also said that the weather in Kolkata was predicted to be bad on those dates, with likely rainfall. They feared the match could be washed out, resulting in heavy losses. They requested a venue where rainfall was less likely. All the venues were considered, including Delhi, Lucknow, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chandigarh, and Ahmedabad.”
He stated that venue changes have occurred many times in the past and there is no political conspiracy.
“According to weather reports, the chances of rainfall were lower in Chandigarh and Ahmedabad. So, the matches were rescheduled, including those in Hyderabad. It wasn’t just about Kolkata. We’ve had to change venues many times in the past. This is nothing new. There is no political conspiracy here. The inaugural ceremony was also held in Kolkata,” he added.
RCB defeated PBKS in Qualifier 1. In Qualifier 2, Punjab Kings beat Mumbai Indians, thereby securing their place in the finals of the tournament. Now, both teams will battle for their maiden IPL title.
