Amid the increasing military tensions between India and Pakistan, the Indian Premier League 2025 was temporarily suspended. However, it looks like the BCCI has concluded the remaining matches.
A revised IPL schedule was shared just yesterday, and it does come as a breather for fans as this can serve as a good distraction, after all, isn’t it?
Read up on the revised IPL schedule, locations, and more, right here.
IPL 2025 was suspended with immediate effect for a week a couple of days ago, and a decision on the continuation of the remaining league games was a question mark. However, everything has been aligned and the matches for IPL 2025 will resume from May 17 (Saturday).
A total of 17 matches will be held across six venues, and the final has now been moved to June 3. While the league stage matches have a venue, the playoffs and the finale’s venue will now be revealed at a later date.
Meanwhile, in a statement, BCCI has also revealed that the decision to continue with the tournament comes “after extensive consultations with government and security agencies, and with all the key stakeholders.”
Here’s the revised IPL schedule for 2025:

The revised schedule for IPL 2025 sees double headers on both Sundays, while Qualifier 1 and Eliminator are scheduled for May 29 and 30, respectively. The second qualifier will happen on June 1, with the finale on June 3.
Meanwhile, reports did suggest that the matches that are left might take place between just three venues, all of them down South, including Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. It looks like there have been some additions and subtractions with matches now also happening in Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
Obviously, this also means that a bunch of teams will not be able to play any of the remaining matches in their home grounds.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals match is now going to be played again on May 24, in Jaipur, with the former team’s remaining matches also happening in Jaipur itself.
As can be recalled, after the match in Dharamsala was called off amid rising tensions at the border, the remaining games were suspended, and overseas players also left the country. It’ll be interesting to see how things will move forward with all those things, especially with the World Test Championship upon us, and the finale for the same is interestingly a week after IPL gets over.
