Just before Punjab Kings stepped onto the field for their high-stakes Qualifier 2 match against Mumbai Indians, there was an unexpected moment involving their captain.
Shreyas Iyer, walking out with his teammates at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, got caught up in a playful mood.

There was a bit of drizzle as the teams began to walk onto the middle. PBKS captain Iyer was in a light mood as he began playfully running around near the pyrotechnics setup. During this brief moment of fun, something appeared to get into his eyes.
There was a bit of concern as he stepped away in discomfort. But thankfully, it didn’t turn into anything serious. The PBKS skipper recovered quickly and continued, showing no signs of injury afterward.

Punjab Kings are under big pressure tonight. They’re chasing a dream that’s been just out of reach for more than a decade. The last time they came close to an IPL title was way back in 2014. Now, they’re just one win away from reaching the final again.

The team had a forgettable outing in Qualifier 1, where they were bowled out cheaply and beaten convincingly by Royal Challengers Bengaluru. That loss has left them with no more chances, as this is a do-or-die game for PBKS.
