In the IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals, an RCB player has touched a prestigious milestone. This moment came during the match between the two teams at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
RCB, opting to bowl first, managed to restrict DC to a total of 162/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite a solid start by DC’s top order, Hazlewood’s disciplined bowling curtailed their scoring momentum. His spell was instrumental in breaking crucial partnerships and maintaining pressure throughout the innings.
During the match, RCB pacer Josh Hazlewood became the first bowler to cross 100 dot balls in the season. The Australian has been excellent for Bengaluru and the special moment culminated during his bowling in the first innings.
Hazlewood’s spell was characterized by his exceptional control over line and length, making it challenging for DC’s batsmen to score freely. He also became the first bowler in IPL 2025 season to bowl 100 dot balls. Behind him is the former RCB pacer Mohammed Siraj, who currently plays for Gujarat Titans and has already bowled 93 dot deliveries.
The 34-year-old conceded 36 runs in his four overs but picked up 2 wickets. He also claimed the Purple Cap during the match, which is handed to the most wicket-taker in the IPL season and is generally a dynamic award which gets its final winner at the end of the tournament.
Hazlewood got the crucial wicket of Abishek Porel first. The Bengal southpaw was looking extremely dangerous but Hazlewood sent him back after 28 runs in 11 balls. Then, the RCB pacer castled the Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel, whose wicket was a crucial one.
