IPL 2025: Real Game Starts From May 29! – Gulte

Generally speaking, the IPL usually peaks toward the closing stages of the group stage games. We’ve seen multiple times in the past where even the final day of the league matches has delivered shocking results with teams qualifying for the playoffs or getting eliminated in a single night.
But this year, the scenario is completely different, as the four qualified teams have already been confirmed nearly a week before the group stage ends.
As a result, the remaining group stage matches are essentially dead rubbers, having no impact on the tournament’s outcome. The only thing left to play for is the final positioning of the already-qualified teams.
This has led to a significant dip in the usual hype and anticipation that surrounds the final group matches. All eyes are now on May 29, when the actual playoff games begin.
We’ll only witness peak IPL action starting May 29, when the knockout stage kicks off. That’s when we can truly expect fireworks from the top-performing teams.
The three playoff matches are scheduled for May 29, May 30, and June 1 respectively. The grand finale is set for June 3 and will most likely take place at the Ahmedabad Stadium.
