Set to resume on Saturday (May 17) after a weeklong suspension due to the India-Pakistan conflict, Indian Premier League 2025 features seven teams still mathematically in contention to make the playoffs, while three others are out of the race.
The updated schedule has six venues on the roster: Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. In all 17 games will be played, which includes 13 league games and the four playoff clashes, with the final now on June 3. The clash between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC), which was abandoned midway on May 8 in Dharamsala, will be replayed on May 24 in Jaipur.
Of the seven teams still in the fray for qualification, only five appear to be serious contenders: PBKS, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Gujarat Titans (GT), Mumbai Indians (MI) and DC. Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants are both on the verge of elimination, and would need a lot of help from other teams to make the playoffs cut, even if they win their remaining three games.
GT need just one win to seal a playoffs spot. They are currently on top of the points table with 16 points, and 18 would guarantee them a top-four finish. If they lose all three, however, they could be in some danger, but even that is a remote scenario as they have a strong net run rate (NRR) of 0.793.
RCB, too, are on 16 points from 11 games and one victory away from advancement to the playoffs. They have an NRR of 0.482, which could come handy later if there’s a tussle for the top two spots.
As for PBKS, they need two wins out of their three remaining games to be assured of qualification. The Shreyas Iyer-led side is currently third with 15 points, and has an NRR of 0.376.
MI have 14 points from 12 games, which means they need victories in both their remaining matches (against DC and PBKS) to seal a playoffs berth. They have the best net NRR in the competition (1.156), which could be vital later.
And finally, DC need three wins on the trot to advance without any help from others. The Axar Patel-lead team possesses 13 points from 11 games and an NRR of 0.362.

GT vs CSK: Sunday, May 25 at 3:30pm in Ahmedabad
SRH vs KKR: Sunday, May 25 at 7:30pm in Delhi
PBKS vs MI: Monday, May 26 at 7:30pm in Jaipur
LSG vs RCB: Tuesday, May 27 at 7:30pm in Lucknow
Qualifier 1: Thursday, May 29 at 7:30pm
Eliminator: Friday, May 30 at 7:30pm
Qualifier 2: Sunday, June 1 at 7:30pm
Final: Tuesday, June 3 at 7:30pm
All remaining IPL 2025 matches will be live streamed on the JioHotstar app and website in India. They will be telecast on the Star Sports Network in the country.
