IPL 2025: Riyan Parag argues with on-field umpire after failed DRS call – CricTracker

2 Min Read
Riyan Parag was quite evidently not pleased after being adjudged caught-behind off Kulwant Khejroliya’s bowling during Match 23 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Parag signalled for the review straightaway after being declared out, however, it was not meant to be his day at the end.
A 134.8 kph delivery which was angled across the batter was intended to be squeezed towards deep backward point. However, Parag managed to get a faint tickle through to Jos Buttler, with the umpire’s finger pointing to the skies. The replays showed the the spike appearing a moment after the ball had passed the bat, with Parag probably trying to convey the same flow of events.

Parag was the third batter to depart for RR. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana were the previous ones to be dismissed. The two left-handed batters fell quite early in the run-chase, in the second and third overs, respectively. The visotors are currently in pursuit of the 218-run target set by GT. At the current moment with RR already five down by the 13th over, things do not look promising for them.

Earlier in the evening, GT were powered to a total of 217/6 courtesy a dazzling 82-run knock by Sai Sudharsan. Jos Buttler (36 off 25) and Shahrukh Khan (36 off 20) contributed quite impressively to the total. A late unbeaten surge of 24 off 12 deliveries by Rahul Tewatia kept the momentum towards GT. With 10 dot deliveries in his four-over spell, Jofra Archer proved to be the most economical bowler for RR with figures of 1/30.
