Openers Abhishek Porel and KL Rahul smashed confident half-centuries and shared a 69-run stand as Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by eight wickets at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Chasing 160 for victory, Porel scored a fluent 51 off 36 balls, while the in-form Rahul remained unbeaten on 57 off 42 deliveries, guiding DC to a comfortable win in 17.5 overs. Captain Axar Patel finished the match alongside KL Rahul, scoring an unbeaten 34 off just 20 balls. Rahul also reached the 5,000-run milestone in IPL, becoming the fastest Indian to do so.

With this win, Delhi Capitals remained on second place on the points table with 12 points from eight matches. DC won six matches and lost two, their net of +0.657 is second only to Gujarat Titans, who also have 12 points from 8 games and sit on top courtesy of a superior net run rate (+1.104).

The bottom three teams on the points table are Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Chennai Super Kings — all sit on 4 points, with RR having the best NRR among them at -0.633, followed by SRH (-1.217) and CSK (-1.392).
