Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) brought an end to their three-match losing streak at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL 2025 following their 11-run win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 24.
Josh Hazlewood was the architect of RCB’s thrilling victory, whose crucial bowling spells in the 17th and 19th overs yielded just seven runs while also claiming three key wickets. Despite a strong position in their 206-run chase, where they were placed at 110/3 after 9.1 overs, Rajasthan Royals were ultimately unable to overcome RCB’s composed performance under pressure.
Earlier in the match, Virat Kohli played another stellar innings, smashing 70 runs off 42 balls. He was well-supported by Devdutt Padikkal, who contributed an impactful 50 runs off just 27 deliveries. Their contributions helped RCB post a competitive total of 205 for five wickets in their allotted 20 overs. As a result of this victory, RCB has climbed to the third position on the points table, with six wins from nine matches and a net run-rate of 0.482.
For Rajasthan Royals, this defeat marks their seventh of the season, making them the first team to reach this unwanted milestone. They currently occupy the eighth spot on the table with four points but are expected to slip further down the standings following tomorrow’s game.
April 25 will feature a contest between two teams that have underperformed in the IPL 2025 season, as the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are set to face off against the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). This particular fixture carries considerable weight, as the outcome could potentially determine which of these two teams ends up at the bottom of the IPL 2025 standings. Currently, CSK occupy the last position on the table with only two wins from their eight matches played. Their Net Run Rate of -1.392 is the poorest among all ten participating teams. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad have also struggled, managing to win only one of their last seven games. With four points and an NRR of -1.361, SRH currently sit in the ninth position on the league table. The victor of this upcoming clash will gain a single rank, moving up to the eighth spot and displacing Rajasthan Royals in the process.
