IPL 2026 Auction: SRH reject 10 Crore Mohammed Shami trade despite injury, form concerns – InsideSport

Sunrisers Hyderabad will continue to put faith in Mohammed Shami ahead of the IPL 2026 retention deadline. The veteran India pacer was signed for a whopping Rs 10 crore last season, but struggled with injury and fitness. Despite trade offers for the 36-year-old, SRH are keen to retain his services as he tries to make a return to the national fold.
As per a Cricbuzz report, Sunrisers Hyderabad have been reluctant to trade Mohammed Shami. Shami struggled with form and rhythm throughout IPL 2025 and was even left out of the XI a few times. Despite his struggles, he remains part of SRH’s plans for next season.
The 2016 champions boast of a seasoned India attack with Harshal Patel and Jaydev Unadkat among their ranks. With Pat Cummins leading the side, Shami at 11.25 crore is a luxury for the team in Orange.
The report states SRH even rejected a few offers for the veteran. Shami has returned to form with the Ranji Trophy this season, and could form a potent option. It is important to note Shami has won the purple cap in IPL 2024 with 28 wickets.
Overall, the 36-year-old is an IPL veteran. In 119 matches, Shami has 133 wickets. Last season he played 9 matches and picked up only 6 wickets, conceding at a shocking 11.23.
