IPL Revised Scheduled, Venues And Timings Released; Here's When And Where Final Will Take Place – Mashable India

BCCI announced on Monday the resumption of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, following a suspension on May 8 due to India-Pakistan tensions.
The league was suspended after attacks by Pakistan in J&K and Punjab, which led to a evacuation of the stadium during the Punjab Kings vs. Delhi Capitals match in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh. With India and Pakistan now agreeing to a ceasefire, the BCCI has swiftly moved to restart the cricketing spectacle, scheduling the remaining matches from May 17. The final is set for June 3.

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is pleased to announce the resumption of the TATA IPL 2025. After extensive consultations with government and security agencies, and with all the key stakeholders, the Board has decided to proceed with the remainder of the season,” the board said in a media advisory.
The revised schedule outlines a compact yet exciting conclusion to the season, with 17 matches to be played across six cities – Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai.

The tournament will resume with a clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Bengaluru on May 17. The BCCI has included two double-header Sundays in the schedule, ensuring fans are treated to back-to-back cricketing action.

The playoff schedule has also been finalised, with Qualifier 1 set for May 29, followed by the Eliminator on May 30. Qualifier 2 will take place on June 1, leading up to the grand finale on June 3.
The sudden suspension of the league on May 8 had caused significant logistical challenges, particularly for IPL franchises with foreign players. Many overseas cricketers, contracted to various teams, had either returned to their home countries or were in transit when the tournament was paused. With the resumption date now set, franchises face the task of quickly reassembling their squads to ensure full-strength line-ups by May 17.
