In the 2024 IPL season, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinched their third title, earning a prize of ₹20 crore. The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), as runners-up, received ₹12.5 crore. 
Conversely, the WPL’s prize money is comparatively modest. In the 2025 season, the Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) emerged victorious, securing ₹6 crore. The Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W), finishing second, were awarded ₹3 crore.

The total prize money pool for the IPL stands at 32.5 crores. The champions receive a massive cash reward of 20 crores, while the runners-up take home 12.5 crores. Likewise, KKR was awarded a cheque of 20 crores.
Whereas, for the WPL, the BCCI has set aside a prize of 6 crores for the champions and a 3 crore reward for the runners-up.
