Earlier, this record was named after Samantha Ramsdel, whose mouth width was measured 2.56 inches in 2021.

But my mouth was so big that it never got caught.” Mary used to surprise her brothers and sisters by putting big items in her mouth in childhood and now the same habit gave them the world record. Mary shared a video, in which she expressed her happiness. In this video, she was seen putting many surprising things in her mouth, including five janga blocks, a baseball and a dining tin. Mary said, “It was always like a joke for me. I used to put three and a half Jenga blocks in my mouth in my childhood and everyone was surprised.”

The reason for this record of Mary is the special texture of her jaw. He told, “My jaw is slightly backwards and I think it goes to my ear. Most people’s jaws are not like this, so they cannot open their mouth so wide.” Mary says that when she downs her lower jaw, her mouth muscles and tendons do not come in the way, so that she can open her mouth more. She said that in 2013 she missed out on becoming a part of another record, when 1,976 people in her city set a record for the largest Wellington boot race. That day Mary had to go because of work and missed the opportunity. But when Mary watched a video online, in which there was talk of the biggest mouth and female record holders, she felt that she could achieve it.
