Cricketing legend Yuvraj Singh is currently making headlines because there are speculations that the World Cup-winning all-rounder will join the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as head coach ahead of the 19th edition of the tournament. However, LSG batter Nicholas Pooran said that he has no idea about him joining the franchise.
Notably, Yuvraj played a crucial role in making of destructive batter Abhishek Sharma and India’s Test and ODI skipper Shubman Gill in the past, and he was recently seen working with Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh. Pooran believes that it would be an absolute honour for him to be led by the legend of the game.
“I wish I knew. I am not sure. I mean, any person who is a legend of this game is an absolute honour to be led by them. So whoever it may be, I am looking forward to the opportunity. Justin Langer has been really good as well for us. There is a margin. So it is good for him. I don’t know what the situation is there. But whoever is a coach, I am sure it is going to be a lot of fun” Nicholas Pooran told Crictracker.
The Lucknow-based franchise was added in the IPL during IPL 2022, and since then, the franchise they reached the playoffs in their first two seasons (2022 and 2023), but were eliminated in the Eliminator match both times. They have never reached an IPL final. The franchise recently appointed Rishabh Pant as their captain before the last edition of the tournament.
