Lucknow Super Giants faced Sunrisers Hyderabad in match 61 of the Indian Premier League 2025 season on Monday at the Ekana Stadium.
SRH have already crashed out of the playoffs race, while LSG have slim chances of still making it to the next round. But for that, Rishabh Pant and Co. will have to win all of their remaining matches.

End of innings: SRH – 206/4
Hyderabad bag their fourth victory in an otherwise dull season, as they chase down a total of 205 comfortably with 10 balls still left to play. Partnerships between Sharma and Kishan, followed by Mendis and Klaasen, ensured SRH never lost control of the chase.
Lucknow became the fifth team to be knocked out of this year’s competition, as their bowling unit was largely unable to pick quick wickets at regular intervals. As the match progressed, the SRH batters took the game away from LSG and thwarted their hopes of qualifying for the playoff stage.
End of 15 overs: SRH – 171/3
Kishan becomes the latest player to depart as he tries to switch-hit Digvesh Rathi but misses the googly completely, a needless shot nonetheless. Rathi brought out his notebook celebration again as he picked up his second wicket of the night.
Hyderabad are in a comfortable position in the chase, as Kamindu Mendis (25) and Heinrich Klaasen (30) will look to finish the match without any major hiccups.
End of 10 overs: SRH – 120/2
Abhishek Sharma played well for his 59 off 20 deliveries, as he became the joint third fastest player to score a half century in this edition of the IPL, alongside Nicholas Pooran. Digvesh Rathi gave a wild send-off, which was not received well by the batter as both got involved in a heated exchange of words before the umpires intervened.
Kishan (32) and Heinrich Klaasen (8) will look to take the innings forward after a good start.
End of powerplay: SRH – 72/1
Atharve Taide went back to the dugout after hitting back-to-back fours as Digvesh Rathi took a good catch at third man. Will O’Rourke bagged his first wicket in the IPL. Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan stitched a 50-run partnership as they look to make the chase comfortable for the other batters to come.
9:39 pm: The chase is underway! Atharva Taide takes strike. Akash Deep will start the proceedings for LSG.
End of first inning: LSG 205/7
LSG got off to a flying start and scored over 100 runs without losing a wicket in the first 10 overs. But after the halfway mark, things started to change. SRH tightened their bowling and picked up regular wickets to pull things back.
LSG made a surprising move by sending Rishabh Pant ahead of Nicholas Pooran, but it didn’t work out. Pant couldn’t get going and got out early, which broke their rhythm.
Even though they lost momentum, LSG did manage to recover a bit towards the end. Pooran chipped in with some quick runs. The last two overs went for 35 runs. LSG ended with 205 for 7.
End of 10 overs: LSG 108/0
Runs continued to flow smoothly for LSG after a strong powerplay. In the 6-10 over phase, they added 39 runs without losing a wicket, taking their total to 108/0 at the halfway mark.
Mitchell Marsh has been the main aggressor, reaching his half-century in style. He is batting on 65 off 38 balls, showing great intent and timing. Aiden Markram has provided solid support from the other end and is unbeaten on 40 off 22 deliveries.
Both batters look in complete control, and with all 10 wickets in hand, LSG are well on track to post a score in excess of 200.
End of powerplay: LSG 69/0
LSG got off to a flying start in the first six overs. Openers Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram played attacking cricket right from the beginning.
Marsh smashed a four and a six in the very first over from Cummins, setting the tone. Markram joined the party soon after, hitting Harsh Dubey for back-to-back sixes.
At the end of 6 overs, LSG were 69 for no loss. Marsh was unbeaten on 41 off 22 balls, while Markram was on 26 from 14.
7:00 pm: Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to field first.
6:30 pm: The toss is scheduled at 7:00 p.m. IST.
