Moeen Ali confirms participation in the PSL after opting out of IPL 2026 auction – Khel Now

The former England international Moeen Ali has announced his participation in the next season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He recently declared that he will be opting out of the auction for the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Moeen Ali featured for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the last IPL season. The all-rounder played only six matches for the three-time IPL champions. He was released by the franchise before the mini auction, which will take on December 16 in Abu Dhabi. This made him not register for the auction and shift bases to Pakistan for the PSL.
“I’m really excited to be joining HBL PSL in its New Era,” announced Mooen Ali through a post on his Instagram handle. Acknowledging the growth of PSL over the year, he wrote, “The league has earned a reputation for top-level T20 cricket, with high-quality competition and world-class talent across every team.”
“Playing in Pakistan is always incredible; quality of cricket is outstanding and the passion and intensity from the crowd push you to bring your best. I’m looking forward to being part of it all and creating some great memories along the way. Ready for another special experience Insha’Allah!” concluded Moeen Ali.

Moeen Ali is not the first name to switch to the PSL after opting out of the IPL 2026 auction. Former RCB skipper Faf du Plessis also recently announced that he will not feature in the upcoming auction and will be seen in the PSL next season.
Moeen Ali has made 73 appearances in the IPL, amassing 1167 runs at an average of 22.01. With the ball, he has 41 wickets to his name.
