Chandrashekhar Azad was born in Garhkhambhola village of Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. His father’s name is Govardhan Das, who was a school teacher himself. In such a situation, the atmosphere of education has been since childhood. He did his initial studies from the school in the village itself and moved to the city of Saharanpur for further education.

BA and law degrees

Chandrashekhar studied law after obtaining a BA degree. Apart from this, he has also taken a degree of law. According to reports, while studying, he started agitating for the rights of Dalits and backward. He also founded the Bhima Army in association with a small group of students. The aim was to provide justice to Dalits and strengthen their right to education. Gradually, this organization became a major social movement and Chandrashekhar Azad started being identified in the name of ‘Ravana’.

MPs are from Nagina

Today Chandrashekhar has made a place in national politics as a Dalit face. Chandrashekhar had entered politics by establishing Azad Samaj Party (ASP). Today he is an MP from Nagina seat in UP. Chandrashekhar Azad won the Nagina Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh in the 2024 election. Chandrashekhar Azad defeated the BJP candidate by a big margin of 1,51,473 votes. Azad got 5,12,552 votes, while Om Kumar of BJP could get only 3,61,079 votes.
