There have been some big innings in the Indian Premier League 2025 season already. One of the most talked-about moments in the 18th season was Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s century, and it is widely believed that Suryavanshi’s innings was one the best IPL 2025 has witnessed thus far.

But former Indian opener and commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu doesn’t agree. During a chat on Star Sports, the former cricketer surprised everyone by choosing a completely different innings as the most impressive so far.

Sidhu named Romario Shepherd’s fiery 53 as the top knock of the season so far. It came off just 14 balls and was played against Chennai Super Kings.
While many were expecting a bigger name or a longer innings to be his pick, Sidhu went with impact over everything else.
The innings completely changed the dynamics of the match, and that innings took the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a close win. That kind of fearless batting, in such little time, was something rare and thrilling to watch.

“If you talk about the best innings in this IPL, it’s 14-ball 53 by Romario Shepherd,” said Sidhu.
The match was played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Shepherd walked in with 14 balls remaining, but he wasted no time.
Every ball he faced seemed to disappear to the boundary. He smashed sixes, fours and didn’t let the bowlers settle. He ended up scoring 53 runs off just 14 deliveries with the help of 4 fours and 6 sixes.
