Punjab Schools Closed: Schools in five districts of Punjab bordering Pakistan and Sangrur will remain closed on Monday. The officers provided this information. He informed that educational institutions in the rest of the state will open again from Monday.
In Pathankot, Amritsar, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur and Tarn Taran districts bordering Pakistan, officials have issued an order to keep schools closed. Punjab shares a 553 km long border with Pakistan, which extends to these five districts and Fazilka.
Education Minister Harjot Bains said that if a university has already amended its examination program, then those examinations will be according to the revised program. Deputy Commissioners of the border districts have been authorized to take decisions on opening or closing the school on the basis of local conditions. Bains also directed educational institutions to strictly follow the security protocols and guidelines of the government.
Meanwhile, officials issued counseling in Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Moga, in which people were urged to stop the lights of the house voluntarily on Sunday evening and avoid getting out until necessary.
After the agreement signed between India and Pakistan to prevent all military operations on land, air and sea, there was peace in Punjab, especially in the border areas on Sunday. According to a message shared by the district administration, school teachers in Amritsar can take online classes. The colleges and universities of the district will also be closed.
College and universities in Pathankot and Gurdaspur will remain closed on Monday. According to the order issued by the officials of Gurdaspur, university and college teachers can take online classes.
In Sangrur, officials have ordered all educational institutions to be closed. Earlier, Bains had said that all educational institutions, schools, colleges and universities in the whole of Punjab will open again on Monday.
