Amreli: Most of the farmers of Saurashtra are associated with farming and earlier the bull was used a lot. Farmers kept the bull as a member of their family. However, now mini tractors or other machines are used more instead of bulls. Nevertheless, many farmers of Amreli district have still maintained the use of bulls. A farmer from Barwala Bawi village of Kukawav Taluka died for 15 years of family members, when he was given a samadhi.

There was a pair of bulls named Kano and Sudama
Praveenbhai Bhanubhai Dobaria, age 50 years, and studies up to 10th standard. They have 25 bighas of land and they take two season crops. For years, they have been engaged in farming and use traditional bulls in farming. They had a pair of bulls named Kano and Sudama, which was brought from Kukavav region 15 years ago. This bull pair was kept in their farming works and like family for 15 years. Due to the aging of the bull, the old age of the bull had to be raised for the last two years, in which Kano died suddenly.

Praveenbhai said that the death of a bull named Kano, who lives like his family, had spread a feeling of mourning in the family. After this incident, an atmosphere of grief was also seen in the family and the neighbors nearby. Praveenbhai said that the bull was kept as a family member and after his death, it was decided to build his tomb in the field. Family members also agreed in this decision. As a result, the bull was given samadhi in his field.

The bull was given samadhi in his fence to remind the bull. At night, family members and people organized bhajan-kirtan, in which a large number of people were present. An amount of Rs 21000 was collected during bhajan-kirtan with bull’s salvation. Where to use this amount, the family decided that bulls were used in farming work, so this investment would be used in farming works. Then, the work of digging the pond was started in his village Barwala, so that irrigation and river water remained in the village. An amount of Rs 21000 was used for this work.
