Predicted LSG retention list for IPL 2026 ft. Rishabh Pant – InsideSport

Despite finishing 7th on the points table in IPL 2025, Lucknow Super Giants will not be looking to make too many changes to their squad ahead of IPL 2026 auction. Rishabh Pant and co. had a rather sub-par season, managing to win 6 games while going on to lose 8. LSG’s biggest worry is their bowling department, with majority of their frontline pacers being injury-prone in nature. With the November 15 deadline for teams to finalise their retentions looming, let’s take a look at players whom LSG will retain before the IPL 2026 mini-auction.
Rishabh Pant: IPL’s richest buy at Rs 27 crore is a sure shot retention despite his poor run in IPL 2025. He is a mainstay in the team and is very much a part of Sanjeev Goenka’s vision for the franchise in the future.
Aiden Markram: The South African showed promising signs as LSG’s opener, scoring 445 runs in 13 matches, including five half-centuries.
Mitchell Marsh: The Australian T20I and ODI captain proved to be one of LSG’s best batters, scoring 627 runs from 13 matches, including 1 hundred and 6 fifties, averaging 48.23.
Nicholas Pooran: LSG’s most reliable number 3 batter is another sure shot retention, having scored 524 runs in 13 matches.
Matthew Breetzke: Although he played just one game in IPL 2025, the budding South African batter is an asset for LSG, given his meteoric rise in the recent past.
Aryan Juyal: A back-up uncapped Indian keeper-batter whom LSG won’t mind having in their camp.
Himmat Singh: Another uncapped Indian who acts as a reserve batter in LSG’s pool.
Abdul Samad: The all-rounder had a fairly decent run in IPL 2025, amassing 164 runs in 12 innings.
Shahbaz Ahmad: He was underutilized in IPL 2025 but LSG will want to retain the all-rounder.
Ayush Badoni: The Delhi captain was one of the most consistent batters for LSG in IPL 2025.
Shardul Thakur: The all-rounder made minimum impact after being signed in the last-minute but is worth being retained.
Rajvardhan Hangrekar: Another uncapped Indian with immense potential who did not get game time in IPL 2025 but can come of good use to LSG in the future.
Yuvraj Chaudhary: An all-rounder who has big-hitting abilities but warmed the bench throughout IPL 2025.
Avesh Khan: The bowler is the spearhead of LSG’s depleted pace attack.
Akash Deep: Another capped Indian bowler who is an instrumental part of LSG’s bowling attack.
M Siddarth: The promising young talent from Tamil Nadu did not get much game time in IPL 2025 but is here to stay at LSG.
Ravi Bishnoi: The leader of LSG’s spin department did not enjoy much success in IPL 2025 but is still one of their main bowlers.
Digvesh Rathi: LSG’s breakout star from IPL 2025 impressed with 14 wickets in his maiden season, overshadowing the likes of Bishnoi.
Akash Singh: A back-up pace option that LSG won’t mind having.
William O’Rourke: Signed as an injury replacement, the New Zealand pacer will be worth retaining, thanks to his ability to bowl at fiery pace.
Prince Yadav: He emerged as one of LSG’s frontline pacers in the absence of Mayank Yadav and Moshin Khan.
