While Delhi Capitals are on a three-match winning streak, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have won three too, with their only defeat so far coming at home. Follow the live cricket scores and updates from the RCB vs DC, IPL 2025 match
Suyash Sharma sees the back of DC skipper Axar Patel to break the Rahul-Axar stand. Run-scoring continues to get harder as Tristan Stubbs joins KL in DC’s quest to bring their chase back on track. The duo pinch 13 runs off a Krunal Pandya to help that endeavour. The asking rate is still over 10 an over though. This could go down to the wire.
DC: 80/4 (12)
This is turning out to be a fascinating game of T20 cricket. In a departure from the high-scorers that Chinnaswamy usually produces, we may be in for a (relatively) low-scoring scrap tonight. RCB have sent back the DC top three. All three, Faf du Plessis, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel, have been dismissed miscuing attempted on-side shots. Is the ball holding onto the pitch a tad bit? Perhaps. Meanwhile, Suyash Sharma comes in as Impact Sub for Bengaluru to add to their slow-bowling options.
DC: 42/3 (7 overs)
Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Faf du Plessis takes strike against the franchise, now to open the batting for Delhi Capitals. The 40-year-old Proteas legend has the 22-year-old Jake Fraser Mc-Gurk with him at the other end, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar has the ball. The out-of-favour India seamer bowls a tidy first over, giving away just one run.
DC: 1/0 (1 over)
Tim David has played a vital hand at the back end of the Challengers innings to push them to a 163-run total. The score may not be a big or even par for the conditions, but it is respectable considering the fact that RCB were at 127 for seven after 18 overs. David ends up with an unbeaten 37 off 20 on the back of four sixes and two fours, and has given the home team something to defend.
RCB: 163/7 (20 overs)
It is quickly turning into a horror night for the hosts with the bat. The Capitals continue to chip away, and have accounted for the top seven of the Bengaluru order with the run rate well below eight an over. Rajat Patidar, Jitesh Sharma and Krunal Pandya have all been dismissed as the Chinnaswamy Stadium is stunned into silence.
RCB: 144/7 (19)
The Capitals’ momentum switch continues as they dismiss Virat Kohli and Liam Livingstone to leave Bengaluru four down. Vipraj Nigam has Kohli caught by Starc at long-off, while Mohit Sharma’s length ball has Livingstone miscuing a slog to backward point, where Ashutosh Sharma pouches it. Patidar is joined by Jitesh Sharma now in the middle, and the run rate has fallen to eight and a half.
RCB: 102/4 (12)
How the momentum has swung in the game. After Phil Salt went hammer and tongs at the Delhi Capitals bowlers to score 37 off 17, he falls victim to a clear lapse in judgement from Virat Kohli, who sells his opening partner down the river for a run-out. Devdutt Padikkal then labours to one run off seven balls before getting caught by Axar Patel off his eighth. RCB under pressure now.
RCB: 64/2 (6 overs)
Phil Salt takes strike with Virat Kohli at the other end. The RCB openers have Mitchell Starc to contend with for the opening over of the match. After a couple of straight deliveries, the Australian quick bowls a sizzling bouncer that flies over Salt and wicket-keeper KL Rahul’s heads for five wides. He reverts to length bowling for the rest of the over. Seven runs off it.
Faf du Plessis returns to the Delhi Capitals side, replacing 21-year-old Sameer Rizvi. Royal Challengers Bengaluru are playing an unchanged XI after their 12-run win over Mumbai Indians.
Delhi Capitals: Jake Fraser-McGurk, Faf du Plessis, KL Rahul (wk), Tristan Stubbs, Ashutosh Sharma, Axar Patel (c), Vipraj Nigam, Mitchell Starc, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohit Sharma, Mukesh Kumar
DC Impact Subs List: Abishek Porel, Darshan Nalkande, Karun Nair, Sameer Rizvi, Donovan Ferreira
Royal Challengers Bengaluru: Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar (c), Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Tim David, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Yash Dayal
RCB Impact Subs List: Suyash Sharma, Rasikh Dar Salam, Manoj Bhandage, Jacob Bethell, Swapnil Singh
Delhi Capitals skipper Axar Patel has won the toss and elected to bowl first at the traditionally batting-friendly M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Rajat Patidar says he would have “definitely” bowled first as well.
The Indian Premier League match will begin at 7:30pm IST. The clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals will be live streamed on the JioHotstar app and website in India. It will be telecast on the Star Sports Network in India.
