Mumbai Indians thrashed Rajasthan Royals by a massive margin of 100 runs on Thursday, effectively knocking the home side out of playoff contention in the Indian Premier League.

After opting to bat, MI piled up a daunting 217/2. In response, RR crumbled for just 117 in 16.1 overs, as Mumbai moved closer to securing a spot in the playoffs.
The innings was powered by fluent fifties from Rohit Sharma (53 off 36) and Ryan Rickelton (61 off 38), setting a strong foundation. Captain Hardik Pandya (48 off 23) and Suryakumar Yadav (48 off 23) then unleashed a late onslaught to take MI to a commanding total.
With the ball, Jasprit Bumrah (2 for 15) and Trent Boult (3 for 28) rocked Rajasthan’s top order, while Karn Sharma (3 for 23) cleaned up the tail to seal a comprehensive win.
Youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi was dismissed without scoring, falling to Deepak Chahar after facing just two deliveries.
