End of 20 overs: PBKS – 219/5
Punjab finish strongly at 219 for the loss of 5 wickets in their quota of 20 overs. Nehal Wadhera’s 70 off 37 and Shashank Singh’s 59 off 30 deliveries helped Punjab post a massive total at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, which happens to be the highest total at this venue too.
Rajasthan were way off the line with their bowling, as the bowlers were smashed all over the park even after getting off to a good start. They need 220 to win to register their fourth win of the season.
End of 15 overs: PBKS – 147/4
Iyer looked to be nursing a finger injury but scored a neat 30 off 25 deliveries before falling prey to Riyan Parag’s golden arm. Yashasvi Jaiswal made no mistake as he took a regulation catch at long off.
Wadhera (63) and Shashank Singh (18) will look to maximize the last five overs and finish the first innings strongly.
End of 10 overs: PBKS – 97/3
Punjab have settled well after losing three quick wickets in the beginning. Skipper Iyer (26) and youngster Nehal Wadhera (37) have found the gaps quite well as they look to increase the run rate.
End of powerplay: PBKS – 58/3
Punjab find themselves in a bit of trouble as they have lost their top three. Both Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh got off to good starts but gave their wickets away cheaply. The BBL star, Mitchell Owen, couldn’t replicate his BBL form as he returned to the dugout for a duck on his debut.
Skipper Shreyas Iyer (13) and Nehal Wadhera (11) will look to stabilize the innings and build a good partnership from here on.
3:30 pm:Â It’s game time at Jaipur! Priyansh Arya takes strike. Fazalhaq Farooqi will start the prcoeedings for RR.
3:00 pm: TOSS! Punjab Kings win the toss and choose to bat first.
