Punjab government farmers called for talks
Meanwhile, the Punjab government has called a meeting to talk with the farmers at four in the evening on Friday (March 21). This meeting is to be held at Punjab Bhawan in Chandigarh. This meeting has been called after the action of Punjab Police on Shambhu and Khanouri border.
Significantly, farmers were demonstrating on Khanauri and Shambhu border from February 13 last year to demand a legal guarantee of MSP. On the action of the Punjab Police, the opposition Congress alleged that the state government ‘cheated’ the farmers.
At the same time, Punjab Minister Harpal Singh Cheema had said that the demand of farmers is from the central government. He had said that when three agricultural laws were brought by the central government, we were standing with the farmers.
