On Tuesday, May 20, Rajasthan Royals locked horns against Chennai Super Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. In the ongoing match, RR captain Sanju Samson scripted history as he became the first Rajasthan batter to complete 4000 runs in IPL. 
Notably, in the ongoing match, CSK, batting first, put 187 runs on the board. In reply, RR got off to a good start but Yashasvi Jaiswal missed out on a well-deserved fifty. Meanwhile, Sanju Samson, who is playing his 149th IPL match for the Royals, hit R Ashwin for a six and with that feat, he reached the milestone. It is worth noting that before this match, Samson required just 15 runs to complete 4000 IPL runs for RR.

Overall, Samson has 4665 runs in 177 matches as he also represented Delhi Capitals in the initial phase of his career. Samson, who made his IPL debut in 2013 with the Royals, moved to Delhi for two seasons from 2016-17 as Rajasthan were banned from the league. 

However, the right-hand batter returned to the team in 2018 and has been with the club since then. Talking about the ongoing match, at the time of writing this article, RR are 95/1 after 10 overs and still require 93 runs to win in 60 balls. Further, Samson is batting on 29 (23), which has featured a four and two sixes.
