Vadodara man booked for selling IPL final tickets in black in Ahmedabad – DeshGujarat
Ahmedabad: A man hailing originally from Vadodara has been booked for illegally selling IPL 2025 final match tickets at inflated rates in the Paldi area. The city crime branch nabbed the accused near Mahalaxmi Crossroads with six match tickets in his possession.
According to officials, the arrest took place during routine patrolling around 6:25 pm, when crime branch personnel received a tip-off about a man wearing a navy blue T-shirt and jeans who was allegedly selling tickets at rates higher than the printed price. When detained and searched in front of panch witnesses, the accused was found with six physical tickets for the TATA IPL 2025 Final, scheduled for June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Each ticket was marked at Rs 1,500, but the man confessed to selling them for Rs 5,000 apiece.
According to the FIR, the accused admitted to purchasing the tickets online and reselling them illegally. He did not possess any licence or permit to sell tickets publicly. The tickets were seized, and the man has been booked under applicable sections of the Gujarat Police Act for unauthorized ticket sale. DeshGujarat
