The 24-year-old announced himself in style with a breathtaking hundred against Chennai Super Kings — one that rewrote records and marked his arrival on the biggest stage. Arya’s explosive knock came at a critical moment — helping Punjab Kings from a collapse to a formidable total.

Fate, however, had other plans. PBKS picked him up and the youngster has repaid that faith very well.
Facing CSK, Arya hammered the fastest IPL century ever scored against them — in just 39 balls. It was also the second-fastest IPL century by an Indian — just two balls short of Yusuf Pathan’s 37-ball blitz.

The situation wasn’t easy — Punjab had slumped to 81 for 4 after a top-order collapse. But Arya’s calm aggression turned things around.
He became the eighth uncapped player to score a century in IPL history and pushed Punjab to a commanding total of 219. Shashank Singh hit a half-century at the death, giving PBKS plenty to defend — especially against a CSK side that hasn’t chased anything over 180 in the last five years.
